In the historic heart of the world's largest wine-growing area, the
special qualities of the soil and local climates have resulted in the
development of wine-farming techniques that combine traditional with ultra-modern
techniques.
The finest French grape varieties (Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Muscat, Chasan,
Terret, Viognier, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet, Grenache, Mourvèdre,
Pinot, Cinsault and Carignan) are planted in our vineyards as they have
the soil types and microclimates that bring out the best in them.
The
vineyards have a Mediterranean climate and a perfect exposure to the sun,
and to the dry North wind which is Nature's way of protecting the vineyards.

The soils are primarily of coarse siliceous gravel, with middle terrace
areas of clayey gravel, and sandy lower terraces.
The differences in the soils require carefully planned planting.
The various grape varieties are thus planted in soils that best suit them.
The ideal combination of grape variety and soil thus obtained brings out
their full potential, finesse and aroma.
